Letter from the Editor-in-Chief
As the school year ends and summer break begins, Volume 5 of The Blackwatch is wrapping up with its last issue of the 2023-2024 school year.
I've really enjoyed my time as Editor-in-Chief of The Blackwatch at York House. Over the 5 years I've been involved in The Blackwatch, 3 being Editor-in-Chief, I've read so many incredible articles by Yorkies. I've been inspired to continue pursuing English and possibly Journalism at university, and I will miss my time being involved with The Blackwatch.
I really hope that you enjoy reading this issue. With articles ranging from op-eds on climate change to short fiction, throughout this semester, our core team has worked hard to edit and layout each issue, publishing articles our journalists have dedicated their time to writing. A big thank you to Mrs. Morrison and Dr Lesk, our teacher sponsors, for supporting us through these years and being enthusiastic about student work.
Journalism is a field that is in jeopardy today, so it's amazing to see so many Yorkies involved and committed to their role in this club. I really enjoyed working with everyone and I hope that more people join in future years!
