Angel Wang ‘25 | Editor-in-Chief

This is Angel’s fourth and final year at The Blackwatch. From editor to copy editor, graphic designer to website designer, she’s taken on virtually every role on the team. This year, Angel hoped to revive the spirit of student journalism at York House and launched an online platform for the newspaper. She also created the Poetry & Prose column and started the Blackwatch archive, both spaces for students to explore different forms of writing and connect with past student work. She hopes these changes will leave a lasting legacy, empowering new voices, and strengthening the student community long after she graduates.

Anita Pan ‘25 | Editor

Anita is returning to The Blackwatch team with a wealth of editing experience. Having been a “sweaty editor” last year, she’s got a strong handle on tools like Grammarly. Her strengths? Reading, writing, and an aura so powerful it’s practically a superpower. While her aura can sometimes outshine the room, she’s ready to bring that energy to every article and help elevate the publication with her unique flair.

Rose Houssain ‘27 | Graphic Designer

Rose is super excited to be working as the graphic designer for The Blackwatch this year. She hopes to maintain the paper’s classic styles and traditions while bringing them into the digital age. Passionate about all things art, she believes creative expression is a way to inspire meaningful change. Other than graphic design, Rose explores her artistic interests through dance, painting, photography, and more. She believes that art can convey beauty in ways words sometimes cannot. A lover of travel and adventure, her ideal day would be spent either atop a mountain or near the ocean.

Fiona Chen ‘26 | Editor

This is Fiona’s first year at The Blackwatch, and she brings with her a strong background in art, design, and communications. Inspired by publications like Vogue and The New Yorker, she’s passionate about storytelling that’s not only compelling but visually captivating. With experience in PR, social media, and content creation for various school initiatives, she’s excited to contribute to The Blackwatch's shift toward digital media.

Angela Tan ‘25 | Editor

Now in her third year on the Blackwatch team, Angela is committed to contributing to its ongoing revitalization arc. With experience as a copy editor for the yearbook and a background in literary publishing, she brings sharp editorial instincts and a flair for the innocuously scathing. She hasn’t yet read all of Shakespeare’s tragedies, but she can tell you exactly when to use an em dash.

Bel Ye ‘29 | Graphic Designer

Bel is excited to join the Blackwatch core team as a graphic designer, combining her love for creativity with her desire to contribute to the school community. With three years of experience using Canva, she enjoys experimenting with different styles—from clean and modern to scrapbook-inspired layouts. She has a strong eye for design and knows how to make visuals that are both organized and engaging. Bel looks forward to learning alongside the team and growing her skills while helping bring each issue to life.

Naaz Dhindsa ‘27 | Editor

Naaz is excited to begin her second year as part of  The Blackwatch as an editor and can’t wait to step up as one of next year’s editors‑in‑chief! Beyond the school walls, her life runs on four constants: food within arm’s reach, The Weeknd in her airpods (which are practically glued to her ears), online shopping, and unwavering faith that Ferrari will finally string together a flawless Formula 1 weekend (she’s accepted delusion as a lifestyle).  Her days follow a familiar rhythm: volunteering around town, procrastinating everything on her to-do list, getting lost in whatever novel is closest, and adding yet another candle to a collection that’s already out of hand.

Abigail Collings ‘26 | Copy Editor

Abby is so excited to be working this year as a Blackwatch copy editor and one of next year’s editor-in-chiefs! When she is not cramming for school tests, you can find her obsessing over soccer matches and analyzing the latest F1 drama. Abby is passionate about journalism and marketing, especially in the rise of social media! Outside of school, she loves volunteering in her community, going on long walks with her dog, or curating the perfect playlist featuring Taylor Swift and Gracie Abrams. She is also a huge fan of binge-watching TV shows (send recommendations!) and can spend hours yapping with her friends.

Situ Li ‘26 | Editor

Situ is eager to serve as a Blackwatch editor this year! She carries a deep appreciation for journalism and has loved reading across all genres for as long as she can remember. She dabbles in some writing of her own. Other than that, Situ can be found: tackling her extensive to-do list, on the track, in the gym, coaching sports, doing a bunch of community work, on sidequests with loved ones, in nature, partaking in fire conversations, supine with headphones in, and/or expressing her love for the little things in life.

Lily Pan ‘26 | Copy Editor

Lily is excited to contribute to The Blackwatch as a copy-editor for this school year. In her free time, Lily enjoys playing tennis, reading dystopian novels, and listening to music while walking her dog. Lily looks forward to reading stories that showcase the diverse perspectives of the student body and shaping them into polished pieces. This year, she hopes that The Blackwatch will continue to grow as a creative and inclusive platform for student voices.
